Give plasma

Plasma donation is similar to blood donation, except that it uses a different machine and takes up to 90mins. You can give plasma as often as every four weeks at one of our five city donor centres.

If you've visited countries with malaria, dengue fever or other tropical virus risks, you might not be able to donate for a while.

Knowing your blood group is important. You can see your blood type on your donor card, or simply ask next time you give blood.

SNBTS continually balances the need for blood, plasma and platelets with the number of donors available. This changes regularly, depending on what patients need at any given time.

As of right now, we would love to welcome female donors with the blood group AB to switch to plasma donation - both regular donors and those who haven't given for some time.
